ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS PROJECT TITLE: OSKALOOSA READINESS CENTER ALTERATION PROJECT LOCATION: OSKALOOSA, IOWA BID DATE: SEPTEMBER 17, 2015 PROJECT NO.: 19080631 CONTRACT NO.: C529O3015 Sealed bids will be received by the Construction and Facilities Management Office until 1:00 p.m. local time at the Oskaloosa Readiness Center, 2260 US Hwy 63, Oskaloosa, Iowa 52577 for the proposed OSKALOOSA READINESS CENTER ALTERATION in OSKALOOSA, IOWA. The general scope of work includes: Base Bid: Work includes, but is not limited to, all material, labor, and equipment for the alteration of approximately a 25,187 square foot single-story building consisting of masonry walls with steel joists and membrane roof system with general, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, telecommunications, security, and civil work. Alternate Bid No.1: Retroplate Existing Concrete Floor in Drill Hall. Alternate Bid No.2: Provide Acoustical Wall Treatment in Drill Hall. Alternate Bid No.3: Replace Sectional Overhead Doors at Readiness Center and MVSB. Alternate Bid No.4: Work includes all labor, material, and equipment for the alteration of the existing Motor Vehicle Storage Building (MVSB) as indicated on the drawings. Building is approximately 10,700 square foot, single-story steel framed metal clad building with metal roof. A certified check drawn upon a solvent bank or bid bond executed by corporations authorized to contract as surety in Iowa, and submitted on AIA Document A310 - Bid Bond, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid and made payable to The Adjutant General, Iowa National Guard, shall be filed with each bidderÕs proposal as a guarantee that the accepted bidder shall enter into a contract with the State of Iowa and file an approved surety company Performance and Payment Bond for the faithful performance thereof. Upon failure to comply, said check or bid bond shall become forfeited as liquidated damages. Bids received will be opened and read aloud at the time and place stated. Under Chapter 91C of the Iowa Code (1989), any construction contractor performing work in Iowa (including out-of-state contractors) is required to be registered with the Iowa Department of Employment Services Division of Labor. The State Department of Public Defense (Military Division), Iowa Army National Guard, seeks to provide opportunities for Targeted Small Businesses in the awarding of contracts. The IAARNG is authorized to award contracts to Targeted Small Businesses under the provisions of Iowa Targeted Small Businesses Procurement Act of 1986 and the Iowa Administrative Code. The IAARNG is also authorized to establish certified Targeted Small Business participation requirements for construction contracts.
