Published in the Tahlequah Daily Press on October 28, 2018 RESOLUTION NO. 10-15-18 NOTICE OE ELECTION CITY OF TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tahlequah, Oklahoma in accordance with the Charter of the City of Tahlequah, that said City will conduct a Nonpartisan General Election for the purpose of electing officers and THAT: 1. A regular Election shall be held on the first Tuesday in February authorized for state elections by the State Election Board: February 12, 2019 2. A runoff election, if necessary, shall be held on the first Tuesday in April authorized for state election by the State Election Board: April 02, 2019 3. The Cherokee County Election Board shall conduct the election and shall fulfill all requirements outlined in the General Election Laws of the State of Oklahoma. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following officers will be elected by ward for a four (4) year term: Councilor, Ward III Councilor, Ward IV BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following officer will be elected at large for a four (4) year term: Mayor BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the filing period for said officers will commence on December 10, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. And will continue each day of the filing period until 5:00 pm.Filing will close at 5:00 p.m. On December 12, 2018. All filings shall be made to the City Clerk. A filing fee of $200.00 shall be paid at the time of filing, as required by the Tahlequah City Charter. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that each candidate for City office shall be a qualified elector of the City and each candidate for office of Councilor shall be an actual resident of the ward for which he/she is a candidate and each candidate for Mayor shall be an actual resident of the City. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that no persons reside within Precinct 25, which is contained within the city limits of the City of Tahlequah; therefore the City of Tahlequah authorizes the Cherokee County Election Board to close that precinct.
