NOTICE TO BIDDERS SEALED BIDS on forms prepared by the Engineer will be received at The City of Hudson Oaks (210 Hudson Oaks Drive, Hudson Oaks, TX 76087) until 2:00 p.m. (local time) on December 20, 2018, for furnishing all labor, material, equipment and the performance of all work required for: PUBLIC PAVING IMPROVEMENTS TO SERVE 210 HUDSON OAKS DRIVE HUDSON OAKS, TEXAS at which time and place the bids will be publicly opened, read aloud and retained by the City and/or Engineer for tabulation, checking and evaluation. COMPLETED BID FORMS shall be submitted in sealed envelopes upon the blank Bid Form furnished in the Construction Specifications. Sealed envelopes shall be marked: “PUBLIC PAVING IMPROVEMENTS TO SERVE 210 HUDSON OAKS DRIVE” – DO NOT OPEN UNTIL 2:00 p.m. on, December 20, 2018. COMPLETED BID FORMS shall be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty consisting of either a cashier’s check or a Bid Bond on the form included or similar form of Surety Company (FACSIMILES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED RESPONSIVE) made payable to EMJ Corporation, and in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of the largest amount bid as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute the Contract and furnish the required Bonds, within the time-frame indicated in the Bid Form, to EMJ Corporation. BIDDERS should carefully examine the plans, specifications and other documents; visit the site of the work; fully inform themselves as to all conditions and matters that can in any way affect the work or the costs thereof. Should a bidder find discrepancies or omissions from the plans, specifications or any other documents or should he/she be in doubt as to the meaning, he/she should at once notify the Purchasing Manager and obtain clarification prior to submitting any bid. PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS and contract documents may be examined without charge at the City of Hudson Oaks, City Hall (210 Hudson Oaks) Public Works Department. Copies of said documents may be obtained from the office of the Engineer – Baird, Hampton & Brown, Inc., 6300 Ridglea Place, Suite 700, Fort Worth, Texas upon a non-refundable payment of $30.00 per set, accompanied by the contractor’s name, contact name, address, telephone number and fax number. Addenda will be issued by email- failure to provide a valid email address may result in failure to acknowledge addenda, which in turn, may result in a disqualified bid. Minimum wage rates to all laborers and mechanics on the project must not be less than as provided in the Contract Documents and Wage Provisions must particularly comply with all other applicable wage laws of the State of Texas. The right is reserved, as the interest of EMJ Corporation and/or the City of Hudson Oaks may require, to reject any and all bids, to waive any informality in the bids received, and to select a bid best suited to EMJ Corporation and/or the City of Hudson Oaks’ best interest. In case of ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating bid prices, EMJ Corporation and/or the City of Hudson Oaks reserves the right to adopt the most advantageous construction thereof, or to reject any or all bids.
