(Published in The Norman Transcript December 25, 2015, 1t) PUBLIC NOTICE INDUSTRIAL PRETREATMENT PROGRAM SIGNIFICANT NONCOMPLIANCE The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Title 40, Protection of Environment, Part 403, General Pretreatment Regulations for Existing and New Sources of Pollution, requires the City of Norman to report any industrial users that have been in significant non-compliance (SNC) with applicable Pretreatment requirements during the previous 12 months. These regulations apply to the wastewater discharges from these businesses. During the previous pretreatment year, eight significant and/or categorical industrial users in Norman were required to meet the criteria established for industrial users in the CFR. One, Oklahoma University (OU), was considered to be in SNC for a violation of its permit limit for mercury. Subsequent sampling and analysis at OU has shown that its discharge is no longer in violation of the permit limit for mercury. Industrial Pretreatment Program records are on file in the office of the Environmental Services Coordinator at 3500 Jenkins Avenue, Norman, Oklahoma. The telephone number for the office is (405) 292-9731.
