NOTICE IS HEREBY given that a bill substantially as follows will be introduced in the 2016 Regular Session of the Legislature of Alabama and application for its passage and enactment will be made: A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT Relating to Cullman County; to provide for an advisory referendum on the November 2016 General Election ballot on whether the office of Cullman County Superintendent of Education should be changed from an appointed position to an elected position. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: Section 1. (a) An advisory referendum shall be included on the November 2016 General Election ballot in Cullman County on whether a majority of the electors in the county, who are not residents of a city in the county which has a separate school system, are in favor of changing the office of Cullman County Superintendent of Education from an appointed position to an elected position. (b) The appropriate election official shall set forth the question to be voted on substantially as follows: "Do you favor the election of the Cullman County Superintendent of Education by the qualified electors of the county who are not electors of a city in the county which has a separate city school system? Yes ( ) No ( )." Section 2. This act shall become effective immediately following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law. February 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2016
