GREAT PRAIRIE AREA EDUCATION AGENCY STATEMENT OF CANDIDACY SUBMISSIONS The Great Prairie Area Education Agency will be accepting Statement of Candidacy submissions for the election of five (5) AEA Board members in September, 2015. The five Board positions open for election are: Director District #1, which includes Central Lee, Harmony, Keokuk, and Van Buren Community School Districts. Director District #3, which includes Keota, North Mahaska, Oskaloosa, Sigourney, and Tri-County Community School Districts Director District #4, which includes Cardinal, Centerville, Davis County, Moulton-Udell, Seymour, and portion of Green Twp. Pct. And Adams Twp. Pct. Contained in the Ottumwa Community School Districts. Director District #5, which includes a portion of Dahlonega Twp. Pct., Agency Twp. Pct., Keokuk Twp. Pct., and Ottumwa pcts. 1 10 contained in the Ottumwa School District. Director District #8, which includes a portion of Burlington 1 and Tama Pct. And Burlington Pcts. 2 12 contained in the Burlington Community School District. School Board Members from these districts will choose the Great Prairie Area Education Agency representatives. Under Iowa law, anyone who is a resident and elector of the Director District indicated, may seek election to the AEA Board, except local school employees or members of the Community College Boards of Directors. Persons interested in declaring candidacy must file a Statement of Candidacy, available at the school board offices in the corresponding Director Districts and the Great Prairie AEA Ottumwa or Burlington Offices. The deadline for filing a Statement of Candidacy with Jennifer Woodley, Public Relations Coordinator/Board Secretary of Great Prairie AEA is August 15, 2015. Terms of office for these five positions on the Board are for 4 years October, 2015 through October, 2019. Meetings of the Great Prairie AEA Board of Directors are held at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center, 200 North Main in Fairfield, Iowa.
