INVITATION TO BID Duck River Reservoir South Pedestrian Bridge - REBID Owner: Cullman County Commission 325 Second Street SE Cullman, Alabama 35055 Engineer: St. John & Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers and Planners 508 First Avenue SE, Cullman, Alabama 35055 Date: August 2, 9, and 16 Your firm is invited to submit a Bid under seal to the Owner for the Duck River Reservoir South Pedestrian Bridge - REBID. The Owner shall receive and and publically open bids at 325 Second Street SE, Cullman, AL at 2:00 PM local prevailing time on Tuesday August 18, 2015. The Duck River Reservoir South Pedestrian Bridge - REBID consists of the design, manufacture and delivery of one prefabricated steel truss bridge with span and clear width dimensions of 110-ft and 8-ft, respectively. The bridge shall be designed by a Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Alabama in accordance with the LRFD Guide Specifications for the Design of Pedestrian Bridges, 2nd Edition and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, 2nd Edition. The bridge supplier shall provide a 10 year warranty against defects in design, material, and workmanship. In order for Bidders to be included in the list of pre-approved manufacturers, they must provide evidence of the following qualifications to the Engineer a minimum of 7-days before the Bid opening: 1. A minimum of five years of experience in the design and manufacture of prefabricated steel truss bridges of this size and type, 2. Three trade references and three customer references, 3. Certification by the American Institute of Steel Construction to have the personnel, organization, experience, capability, and commitment to produce fabricated structural steel for Major Steel Bridge Structures with Fracture Critical and Sophisticated Paint Endorsements as set forth in the AISC Certification Program. The project is funded in part by Recreational Trail Funds (RTP) under project # 14-RT-54-07. Information on the applicable federal requirements is contained within the Contract Documents. Bidding Documents may be examined in Cullman at the office of the Engineer. Bidding documents may be obtained at the Engineer’s office upon nonrefundable payment of $25.00 for each set of documents. Documents provided will include one set of legal requirements and technical specifications. Bid shall be submitted on the Bid Form provided. Bidders may supplement this form as appropriate. Your Bid will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 60 days from the date of the opening of Bids. All bids must be sealed and marked in the lower left-hand envelope ‘Duck River Reservoir South Pedestrian Bridge - REBID’, with opening date and time.The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids and to waive any informality in the bidding.
